After 6 months of investigation, carried out under the coordination of the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Faro, the PSP, through the Department of Weapons and Explosives, carried out on November 25th three search and seizure warrants — one domestic and two non-domestic — in the municipality of Olhão, an operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of a vast array of weapons, ammunition and other illicit objects.
According to the PSP statement, in the Magazine operation, 6 pistols, 5 revolvers, 2 sawed-off shotguns, 1 class G weapon (air pressure 4.5 mm), 1 alarm gun, 1 automatic opening knife, 1 extendable baton, 1 silencer, 1 shotgun barrel, 13 chargers of various calibers, 1 revolver drum, 11,741 ammunition of various calibers were seized, 13 thousand euros in cash and 1 cell phone
The detainee will be brought before the competent judicial authority this Tuesday.
The now culminated investigation originated in a process related to the trafficking, mediation and transformation of firearms, which previously gave rise to the “Lost Bullet II” operation. Carried out on March 13, 2024, this operation involved the execution of 3 arrest warrants outside of flagrante delicto and 58 search warrants, resulting in the arrest of 14 individuals and the seizure of 107 firearms and 18,730 ammunition.
In a statement, the PSP emphasizes that, with the collection of evidence now carried out, it is convinced that the illicit activity in question has ceased.
